Symptom checklist

What we hear from the bridge.

  • Bilge alarm chatter in heavy weather
  • Tank radar reads 0% on full tank (Hawk, Emerson)
  • OCM 15 ppm sensor reads high after bunker
  • Float switch stuck on after cargo cleaning
  • Marpol Annex I overboard valve interlock fails
Likely root causes

Where the fault usually lives.

  • Fouled OCM sensor cell
  • Radar dome condensation
  • Magnet weakening on float switch reed
  • PT100 transmitter calibration drift
Equipment we bring

Calibrated test equipment, class-acceptable reports.

  • Druck DPI 620 calibrator
  • Emerson 475 HART communicator
  • OCM calibration test fluid

Reports compatible with DNV · BV · ABS · Lloyd's · TL · RINA · ClassNK · IRS.

FAQ

Common questions for this system.

Which level and bilge sensor makes do you service?
We attend Hawk Centurion guided-wave and Gladiator pulse radar gauges, Emerson Rosemount 5300/5408 GWR and 3051 differential pressure for tank gauging, KSR Kuebler magnetic float chambers, standard reed-type bilge floats and Deckma OMD-2008/OMD-32 oily-water 15 ppm monitors. We re-zero, span and bench-check sensors with a Druck DPI 620 and verify the OCM with a Marpol Annex I compliant test cell and certified bilge water sample.
What is the typical attendance time for a bilge alarm or OCM problem?
Single bilge float or one tank-gauge channel: two to three hours alongside. Full E/R bilge well loop check (forward/aft, ER, ER aft, shaft tunnel) with PLC logic verification: six to eight hours. OCM 15 ppm overhaul including bench cell, optical window cleaning, zero/span on certified emulsion and three-way valve recirculation test: four to five hours. We carry spare Deckma cells and the Druck calibrator to avoid a second trip.
Will the bilge / OCM report be accepted for the MARPOL Annex I survey?
Yes. Reports are issued in DNV, BV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, ClassNK, RINA, TL and IRS formats with the IOPP Certificate Form B item references. We attach Druck DPI 620 calibration cert, OCM cell certificate, the certified test emulsion lot number, three-way valve actuation log and a print of the resulting ORB Code C entry. If a USCG Subchapter D Port State officer attends, we hand them the same document pack on request.
