FAQ

Common questions for this system.

My system isn't in the wizard list. Can I still raise a service request?
Yes. Pick the Other / Doesn't fit option in the service wizard. Describe the system in free text (maker, model, symptom, when it started, any error codes on the ECR alarm printer or panel display), upload a photo of the nameplate and the alarm screen, and your vessel position or next port. The intake is reviewed by an ETO at the Florida desk within thirty minutes during US working hours and within two hours overnight or weekend.
How does the wizard route an unusual or specialised system?
The intake is triaged against our service matrix. If it maps to one of the 19 listed systems (e.g. you described an AC motor problem under Other), we re-tag and dispatch the relevant specialist. If it is genuinely off-list (specialised research-vessel sonar, dynamic positioning, hybrid Li-ion energy storage), we either deploy our generalist ETO with OEM remote support from the maker, or sub-contract to a vetted US partner and remain the single point of contact, single invoice, single report.
Can you still produce a class-acceptable report for an off-list system?
Yes. Regardless of system, the attendance report is structured to the expectations of DNV, BV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, ClassNK, RINA, TL and IRS: scope of work, test instruments used with calibration certs (Fluke 87V, Megger MIT525, OMICRON CPC 100, FLIR T540, Druck DPI 620 as relevant), before/after measurements, photos, observed defects, corrective action and recommendation. If the work touches a statutory item, we coordinate joint attendance with the surveyor on the same call.
